When They Fall to Earth" is an exploration of the materiality and meaning of feathers. I created a photo montage that relates not only to animal exploitation but also to the spiritual symbolism of feathers being broken and the brutality that ensues. "Feathers" encapsulates both the tangible journey of feathers and the intangible journey of meaning, connection, and resonance
BOOKLET
To support the video, I created an accordion booklet showcasing their journey as they fall from the sky to the earth, then ascend once more through their profound spiritual resonance within indigenous cultures. The accordion booklet is meant to be read in two ways: entirely folded out and as a booklet.
