POETRY FILMS
Challenge
Poetry Films is a Canadian independent film production startup that tells artful stories of everyday life. The brand embodies creativity, sophistication, individuality, and a timeless aesthetic, targeted towards gen z and millenials. For this branding project, the challenge was to design a logo and branding campaign that reflects these qualities while ensuring the company stands out in the competitive film production industry.

Process
I explored the brand through word lists and mind maps, sketched multiple logo ideas, then refined and finalized the strongest concept in Illustrator. Below is a selection of process work.

Solution
I drew inspiration from Art Deco jewelry, which reflects individuality and sophistication. Gemstones represent creativity and rarity, with each one symbolizing something personal. This concept ties to Poetry Films, where every film has the potential to become someone’s next hidden gem.
Green labradorite became the central imagery for the brand. Found in Labrador, Canada, it appears dark until light reveals its iridescent colours—reflecting Poetry Films’ mission to uncover the extraordinary within the ordinary. By highlighting everyday people and moments, the brand captures a grounded yet awe-inspiring vision.
