Challenge
Create a booklet on any topic with original writing and imagery. I explored dream interpretation, unpacking the symbolism of recurring dreams and what they might reveal about our waking thoughts and feelings.
Process
I researched recurring dream themes and the symbolism behind them, then wrote short interpretations for each. I explored collage and experimental typography to translate these themes visually. Through iteration, I refined the layouts to create a consistent rhythm across the booklet.

Solution
The final booklet combines bold typography, collage, and negative space to mirror the fragmented and often confusing nature of dreams. For the cover, I hand-cut “The Scraps” with an X-acto knife, then used the leftover cutouts to build a scrappy face on the next page — made from the literal scraps of the title.
